Frequently asked questions
As mentioned above, cool roof tiles are crafted from high-reflective material like zirconium oxide, alumina silicate, or zirconium silicate. It is coated with special glaze that allows tiles to reflect most of the solar heat during the day. With this technology, the temperatures inside buildings come down drastically, adding to the comfort in your home. At Orientbell, you can find cool tiles with a solar reflective index (SRI) value of up to 98, which is very hard to find with any leading tile brands.
Unlike general perception, laying down cool roof tiles is not a difficult process at all. It is similar to what happens when you go for ceramic or porcelain tiles. First of all, the base mortar is prepared with cement and sand in a 1:4 ratio. Next, waterproofing chemicals are mixed into the mortar, and the cement slurry is then prepared that is applied on the mortar. It is suggested that while laying the tiles, use a 6mm spacer for the perfect layout. The final step is to fill the grout liner or joints with the waterproof grouting materials. Let the tiled area stay as it is, without any disturbance for at least 48 hours.
These tiles reflect the sun rays and heat to keep the rooms cool.
